Contracting Administration Manager

The Contracting Manager is responsible for managing document control, redlines, reviews, inserting key terms and converting negotiation notes into document language.  In addition, supporting negotiations, distributing function specific contract language to SMEs for approval and routing final documents for signature.Develops tools (e.g., dashboards, grids, tables, summaries) as needed to provide organizational leadership key contract data.   Other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Revise and update contract templates and letters as needed for state/regulatory compliance and to implement industry standards and/or changes
  • Maintain and update scanned contracts and related documents on appropriate drive Answer and/or resolve urgently needed information sent to the HMO Contracting email box
  • Update HMO Contract renewal schedule as needed.
  • Upon execution of health plan contract provide information to Contract Administrator who will implement roll out meeting and include all impacted departments.
  • Upon execution of hospital agreement or amendment update information in current contract database and submit change form to appropriate personnel/departments.
  •  Convert negotiation notes to contract language
  •  Circulate draft contract terms/language to appropriate internal SMEs for review & approval
  • Identify material changes to contracts and work with legal department as needed on these issues.
  • Research claim or benefit inquiry as needed.
  •  Directly supervises all employees in Department. 
  •  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. 
  •  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees of the department, addressing complaints and resolving issues.


Minimum Education:   Bachelor's degree required;or five years experience and/or training in contracting administration in a hospital or IPA setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum Experience:   Five (5) or more years’ experience in healthcare, preferably in an IPA operational setting. Must have strong working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel,PowerPoint, Familiarity with payor & hospital contract language and reimbursement mechanisms and knowledge of state and other regulatory requirements for Medical Groups and RKK entities.
