Project Manager

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning and execution of projects as assigned by the Director of the Operations Program Management or the Chief Operating Officer. Projects may be simple to moderately complex and could involve a diverse set of components with cross functional departments for the key operational initiatives of the company.  Projects cover a variety of operational initiatives including new market / contract launches, new service line implementations, website re-launch & maintenance, government & regulatory compliances, PCP practice transformations.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Build and maintain productive intradepartmental relationships with other departments (Contracting, IT, Claims, Eligibility, Customer Relations and Member Services, Medical Management, Performance Programs, Network Management, MSO Management, etc.) to enable effective & accurate project administration and completion.  Act as a resource to department for answering / researching questions with regard to projects.
  • Facilitate communication between internal and external customers.  Ensures that verbal and written communication is clear and concise.  Notify Director of Operations Program Management of potential risks. Create and execute approved action plans to mitigate risks.  Proactively communicate and manage expectations of Project Sponsors.  
  • Partner with the Director of Operations Program Management in portfolio and roadmap management. Assist with strategy and goal development for the department to be able to efficiently and effectively meet changing business needs.  Proactively make recommendations and propose solutions for business and team’s success and continuous improvement
  • Provide assistance and guidance to Business Analysts and other departments. Assist Department Director in developing metrics and tools to measure progress on department goals. Ensure self-compliance with company policies, procedures and workflows and strategic use of.
  • Successfully manage assigned projects through the entire project management life cycle, from initiation through execution and closure. Work with project teams in evaluating, analyzing, planning, organizing, executing and deploying projects.  


Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Project Management Certification preferred.

Minimum Experience: Three or more (3+) years experience in healthcare, preferably in an IPA operational setting. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance issues is vital.  Some basic knowledge and experience managing small and medium scale projects. Proficient in MS Word, MS Project, MS Excel, and Visio. Project Management a plus.
