Receptionist

The Receptionist is responsible for operating multi-line telephone system to professionally administer all incoming calls. Accurately direct callers to appropriate personnel. Greet visitors in a friendly hospitable manner when they enter in Prospect Medical lobby as well as sign for any appropriate courier deliveries. 



Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Answer incoming telephone calls professionally, determine purpose of calls, and forward calls to appropriate personnel or department.
  • Maintains member confidentiality and protects operations by keeping information confidential in compliance with HIPPA requirements.
  • Take and deliver messages or transfer calls to voice mail when appropriate personnel are unavailable.
  • Welcome on-site visitors in a friendly hospitable manner, determine nature of business, and announce visitors to appropriate personnel. Monitor visitor access and issue visitor passes when required.

  • Complete new member orientation packets as assigned.
  • Fax, mail, or e-mail member referral request as assigned.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Minimum Experience:  Bilingual preferred. Minimum two (2) years as a Receptionist required. Minimum (2) years of customer service experience in an IPA or HMO setting or equivalent experience in managed care preferred. Knowledge in Microsoft programs. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast pace environment.
