Fax Coordinator

The Fax Coordinator is responsible for retrieval, sorting, filing and distribution of all incoming inpatient faxes.



Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Daily retrieval, sorting, filing, researching and distribution of all incoming inpatient faxes
  • Coordinator will research each incoming inpatient fax to determine patient eligibility and if there is an existing inpatient case in Essette.
  • They will file each faxed document on a shared drive in a standardized manner set forth in department processes.
  • Attach incoming documents to the appropriate Essette authorization if one exists
  • Accurately and completely, per department protocol for this position, initiate an authorization when one does not exist in Essette.
  • Redirect any incoming fax that does not belong to the inpatient team to the correct department. 
  • Retrieve and process all incoming files within 3 hours of receipt.
  • Create an appropriate file name for storage in shared drive as outlined in department protocols.
  • Accurately and in a timely manner attach document(s) to the correct inpatient authorization.
  • Directly report to manager the daily volume of processed and unprocessed faxes.  Include the oldest received date of unprocessed faxes.


Qualifications

Minimum Education:  High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Minimum Experience: Experience with Microsoft Office Word (40 WPM) and fax machines.

Req. Certification/Licensure: None.
